Skylights: More than just a window in the ceiling

Way back in the 16th each house or building had what was known as a conservatory which would be a part of the main building. This round or dome shaped room was made completely of glass, from the ceiling to walls. This was primarily done so that there was enough sunlight and ventilation to facilitate the growth of citrus plants at any and all times during the day.
