Know your Roof Windows

Roof windows are often incorporated as designs of the entire roof, but they are in most cases confused with skylights. A roof window is the perfect option for a person who needs to allow both light and fresh air into a room. It is important to note that a roof window is not another name for a skylight. Roof windows are often large when compared to skylights, something that allows the observation of overhead sky. The form of lighting achieved from the use of this type of window is not directed into the house through any channel, as is the case with a tubular skylight. When roof windows are being installed, it is advisable to have a certain amount of slope. It might sound interesting though a roof window is also an opening through which you can escape in case of a threatening situation or fire. Importantly, design features can be added to an already existing roof window structure. Provided the roof has a slope that is relevant to the installation of this window, all what is required is the right form of skill to carry out the task. It only takes a few hours to have the window installed. The slope is necessary to avoid water collecting at the edges.
