Tech skylights are here to stay

Have you ever seen a skylight? If you have stayed in a house that was built in the 1980’s then you will surely know what it is. Most of the houses built during that time had skylights—it was a design feature back then. The glass that was used during that time was not really glass; it was a white coloured acrylic. The main function of skylights was to provide uniform distribution of light in the entire day. However, due to faulty construction and installation, the skylights very rarely provide what they are intended to. Thankfully, we’ve got tech skylights today. They are no longer made up of acrylic but of flat glass. The glass is far more durable than acrylic. Leaving aside that, double panes skylights have come into the picture as well. The double paned glasses have gas filled in between them. This results in controlling heat transfer and thus, decreasing the house cooling/heating costs. The most typical part of the skylights is the use of vinyl or fiberglass frames to fit it in. Earlier aluminium was used in frames but it is no more applicable now. Tech skylights are an easy way to brighten your house at low energy costs.
