Skylights are perfect additions to any building and they are available in numerous styles. Experts categorize the available styles into nine. Four of these styles are most suitable for big commercial buildings and huge houses. These four styles are the ridge style, the hip ridge style, the lean-to style, and the barrel vault style.
• Ridge style – The ridge style is the simplest among the styles in this list. Two long rectangular glasses slope toward one another forming triangle and their sides are sealed off with straight triangle glasses.
• The hip ridge style – The hip ridge style is like the ridge style but it sort of looks like a long rectangular pyramid because its sides are sealed with sloping triangle glasses instead of straight ones.
• The lean-to style – The lean-to
skylight is very popular among buildings with complex architectural styles. Skylights which feature this style start from the roof of a single story and stops on the upper wall of a higher story.
• Barrel vault style – The barrel vault style is the most complicated style and is the most expensive as well. It is a combination of the ridge style and the lean-to style but is characterized by a half dome or a number of half domes.
