Which Is The Best Skylight?

There are mainly two types of skylight that are meant for increasing the amount of light which comes into a room. These are fixed on the roof by creating an opening. The common skylights are curb-mounted or frame in place. The curb-mounted is normally raised above the plane of the roof. These may be glazed with clear acrylic or with glass. The flashing on the curb type has a head flash and two pieces of side flashing along the skylight frames. This protects water from entering the roof through the sides by allowing water off the skylight. A framed-in-place skylight is another type. It looks like a vertical window. It has an L-shaped bracket that holds it in place. These are glazed with glass like insulating glass and the glazing on top made of low emissivity coatings. The other types of skylights for home that are available in the market are ventilating skylight, tubular and fixed skylights. They can may be modified to include tinting, shades, screens, thermal and insulated. The ventilation type allows for some fresh air into the room since they have an opening. These are good for kitchen and bathrooms. The fixed types are for providing light basically. They are available in different styles, shapes and sizes. The tubular are smaller in size and are good for small rooms and places like the corridors and hallways.
